Good to know
Half an hour is a natural block for study and practice: a homework session, a timed section of a mock exam, a music practice slot or a steady workout. In the kitchen it covers plenty of bakes, and at work it's a common length for a short meeting or a focused block on your calendar.
Over 30 minutes, keeping the screen awake matters: on browsers that support it, the display stays on while the timer runs, so a phone propped on the desk keeps showing the countdown. Keep the tab open until the end, and if you'll step away from the screen, turn on "Desktop notification" as well as the alarm sound, which repeats for up to 10 minutes until you stop it.
Questions and answers
Will my phone go to sleep during a 30-minute timer?
On browsers that support it, the timer keeps the screen awake while it counts down. If yours doesn't, lengthen your phone's auto-lock setting while you use the timer.
Can I make it 45 minutes instead?
Yes. Change the minutes to 45 before you click "Start", or type any combination of hours, minutes and seconds.
Can I see the time left while using other tabs?
Yes. The browser tab title shows the time remaining, so you can check it without switching back.
