15-minute timer
A quarter of an hour, ready to count down. Click "Start" and get going.
Time is up
Alarm sound
Keep this tab open while the timer runs.
Good to know
Fifteen minutes is long enough to make real progress and short enough to stay focused the whole way through. Use it for a sprint on one task, a short presentation or speaking slot, a quick bodyweight workout, or a reading or group activity in class. Speakers can put it in full screen on a laptop facing them to see the time left at a glance.
Fifteen minutes is also the default long break in the Pomodoro timer here, so if you'd like focus sessions and breaks to alternate automatically, try that instead. The tab title counts down as well, so you can check the remaining time while you work in another tab.
Questions and answers
Can I use this timer for a presentation?
Yes. Start it as you begin speaking and keep it in full screen on a device you can see. If a loud alarm would interrupt you, turn the volume down under "Alarm sound" first.
What happens when the 15 minutes are up?
The display shows "Time is up" and the alarm repeats until you click "Stop alarm", for up to 10 minutes. With "Desktop notification" turned on, you'll get a notification too.
Does it stay accurate in a background tab?
Yes. It keeps accurate time in the background and shows the minutes remaining in the tab title. Just don't close the tab, because that stops it.
